Regulation, increasingly complex information security systems, and a fast-changing threat landscape have together exacerbated a shortage of specialist security expertise. Blue Bay helps organizations overcome these challenges with a broad portfolio of digital security products and services. It resells and implements many of today’s leading identity and access management (IAM) and cybersecurity technologies, with IBM Security’s IAM solutions a particular focus.
Blue Bay’s offerings now include Entersekt’s Transakt product, which provides full protection from phishing and other attacks targeting the online, mobile, and card-not-present channels. Transakt uses state-of-the-art digital certificate technology and proprietary mobile validation techniques to form a trusted communication channel between service providers and their customers’ or employees’ mobile phones or tablets. It is validated with the Ready for IBM Security Intelligence program, providing improved identity assurance to organizations using IBM Security Access Manager.
End-users approve or reject push-based authentication prompts with one tap of their mobile device. Their responses are digitally signed and returned fully out of band. There is no need for one-time passwords (OTPs). [Watch: 50-second explainer video.]
Ray Neucom, VP access management at Blue Bay, said, “Transakt protects against the use of stolen credentials and browser and Wi-Fi–based attacks in a way that is easy to use and well accepted by consumers. We are excited to deliver this product to US organizations that provide access to sensitive data and transacting capabilities online and via mobile.”
“Extreme usability is key to Transakt’s success in the authentication market,” said Dewald Nolte, a co-founder of Entersekt and its SVP partnerships and alliances. “US digital service providers are looking for authentication solutions that have a light impact on end-users while also providing banking-grade protection. We are very pleased to have Blue Bay on board to help us meet the demand.”
